BLUE IS THE NEW GREEN

We exclusively use quality pine beetle kill wood, which is wood from trees affected by the pine beetle epidemic. Most people think green means recycling. Killwood on the other hand, is all about upcycling, transforming otherwise waste material into elegant eco-friendly products. A gorgeous CO2-offsetting material, pine beetle kill wood displays a unique blue grain and has the same strength as conventional wood. Each Killwood product is one-of-a-kind with a distinctive character all its own.

When trees are infested by the pine beetle, CO2 is released and intensifies over time. By crafting Killwood lifestyle goods we are trapping this pollution and mitigating the greenhouse effect from these dead trees.

Not only are we using woods that do good, the Re-Tree Movement is another way we’re helping to rejuvenate local Canadian forests. For every Killwood product created, a new tree will be planted in place of the dead tree that was upcycled and reimagined.
